2 Killed After SUV Crashes Into Lynn Dunkin' Donuts

LYNN (CBS) – Two people were killed early Saturday morning after crashing into a Lynn Dunkin' Donuts.

Massachusetts State Police said a man and woman were ejected from their SUV and declared dead following a crash around 2:30 a.m.

The victims were identified later Saturday morning as Salvador Quinones, 26, of Boston, and his girlfriend Silvia Rodas-Dugal, 25, of Chelsea.

Preliminary investigation shows that the SUV swerved off the Lynnway in the area of Blossom Street crashed into the Dunkin Donuts.

The SUV then went back onto the road and came to a stop in the middle of the northbound lane.

Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash.

Building owner David Zeller said, "The car was basically cut in half and catapulted into the Lynnway."

"I've never seen a car crash like that in my life," Dunkin' Donuts customer Linda Dinublia told WBZ-TV's Paul Burton.

Zeller said there were customers inside the coffee shop when the car came crashing through. No one inside was hurt.

"The manager jumped through the window to try and help the occupants in the car, but there was nothing he could do," he said.

Quinones' family says Salvador was a fun-loving person who was also hard working.

"It's so tragic and so bad," Zeller says. "Insurance will cover (the damage), but to lose your life like that is just terrible."

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
