Lufthansa To Operate 40 Percent Of Flights During Strike
BOSTON (CBS) - Lufthansa Cargo says it will operate 40 percent of its Saturday flights despite it being the fourth consecutive day of a strike.
Vereinigung Cockpit Pilots' Union has called for a fourth day in a series of 12 separate strikes, making this particular strike the longest to date.
The strike is projected to affect about 220,000 passengers.
Lufthansa has sent out 84,000 text messages and 34,000 emails to notify passengers of the changing flight schedules. The company will also be supported by other airlines within the Lufthansa Group to get as many passengers to their destinations as possible.
The company has posted another special flight timetable for the entire strike period.
Passengers whose flights have been cancelled can rebook other flights for free.
