Lowell Man Pinned Between Two Cars During Fight

LOWELL (AP) — Police say a man suffered a serious leg injury after another man allegedly pinned him between two cars during a fight.

Officers responded around 5:30 p.m. Friday to a neighborhood near the Eastgate Plaza Shopping Center and found the victim bleeding profusely from his leg.

He was taken to Lowell General Hospital before being airlifted to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Police haven't released the man's identity.

Police say the victim had been fighting with 28-year-old Andrew Melendez, of Kittery, Maine, when Melendez got into a car and drove into the victim, pinning him against a parked car.

Melendez was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

It's unclear whether Melendez has an attorney.

There's no word on the victim's condition.
