Lowell Police Investigating Officer For Sleeping On Duty
LOWELL (CBS) – A Lowell police officer is under investigation after a resident took a picture of him apparently asleep behind the wheel of his police cruiser.
The Lowell Sun received a picture that was taken Thursday morning around 5:30 a.m.
The picture, snapped on Highland Street near the Rogers School, appears to show the officer with his seat reclined, sleeping on a pillow.
Lowell Police Superintendent William Taylor told the newspaper the department has been instructed to begin an "immediate investigation."
