Lowell Men Accused Of Raping Two 14-Year-Old Girls

LOWELL (CBS) -- Two 18-year-old Lowell men are accused of plying a pair of teenage girls with hard liquor and then sexually assaulting them in one of the suspect's homes.

The girls were introduced to Henry Espinola and Andres Peguero through a friend of a friend, police said.

"They took advantage of two 14-year-old girls who unfortunately entrusted them with being in their presence," Lowell Police Captain Tim Crowley said. "It was a pretty brutal and violent attack."

One of the girls was found lying on the ground in the area of Lawrence and Andrew streets.

"She was virtually incoherent, didn't really know what was going on," Crowley said.

Espinola and Peguero are known to police.

The two men face charges of aggravated rape of a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The victims were treated and released from the hospital and are recovering at home.

"The physical scars will heal, it's everything else that's after that you have to be most concerned with," Crowley said.
