Man Tells Police He Was Shot While Driving In Lowell
LOWELL (CBS) - A man was rushed to the hospital after he told police he was shot while driving in Lowell.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the unidentified man was driving inbound on the Lowell Connector just after 10 p.m. Wednesday when he said he was hit by gunfire.
The wounded man parked on Gorham Street, ran into the XtraMart and asked for help.
He was brought to Lowell General Hospital and then to Tufts Medical Center in Boston. There's no word yet on his condition.
Troopers shut down the Lowell Connector to search for evidence and also went through the man's car.

The store was later blocked off by crime scene tape as crews cleaned up blood in the area.
Paulo Santos knew something was wrong when he saw flashing blue lights outside of his window.
"Police cruisers all over," he told WBZ-TV. "It was a lot of commotion around here. It was different for sure. Scary."
In addition to the police cruisers, Santos said there were two cars parked in front of his house including an SUV with a shattered window on the driver's side.
