Low-Number License Plate Lottery Winners To Be Announced
BOSTON (AP) — The winners of this year's Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles low-number license plate lottery are set to be announced.
Registrar Erin Deveney will conduct the lottery Friday live on the air on WBZ-AM's "Nightside with Dan Rea" show.
This year, 156 plates are up for grabs, including 650, 7X and L91.
The winners will receive a letter from the registry with instructions on how to register their new plates. The agency also will post a list of winners on its website at www.massrmv.com.
The lottery was started in 1997 in response to criticism that low-number plates were handed out only to the politically connected.
