Longtime Boston News Anchor Chet Curtis Has Died
BOSTON (CBS) - Legendary Boston news anchor Chet Curtis passed away on Wednesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer, according to reports from NECN and WCVB-TV.
The 74-year-old Curtis was a fixture at WCVB–TV for decades before moving to NECN in 1999. Curtis was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame last year.

"Chet Curtis was much more than an extraordinary journalist. He was a generous mentor and sincere friend to so many here at WCVB," WCVB-TV General Manager Bill Fine said in a statement.
Prior to his career in Boston, Curtis worked as an anchor and reporter at the CBS flagship station in New York City and the CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C.
He leaves behind three daughters.

A wake will be held Sunday at Waterman & Sons Funeral Home, 580 Commercial St., Boston, on Sunday, January 26, from 3 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Cecilia Parish, 18 Belvidere St., Boston, on Monday, January 27, at 11 a.m.
The family would like to request that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to The Genesis Foundation for Children. The Genesis Foundation supports innovative programs that care for children with complex genetic disorders.
