Man Killed In Lexington Crash Caused By Tire That Fell Off Truck

LEXINGTON (CBS) -- A man was was killed after his car was struck by a tire that fell off of a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon on Route 128.
The accident happened at 1:15 p.m at Exit 31. The truck, driven by a 19-year-old woman was traveling on the southbound side of Route 128 when its left rear tire came off, crossed the median, and went into the northbound lane. The tire then bounced off of one vehicle and hit a second one traveling in the high speed lane, killing the driver.
All lanes were reopened by 4:15 p.m.
State Police say a 19-year-old woman was driving the pickup truck.
The victim has not yet been identified. The crash remains under investigation.
