Lawrence Man Faces Gun Charges After Alleged Obama Twitter Threat
LAWRENCE (CBS) – A Lawrence man has been arrested on gun charges after he allegedly used Twitter to threaten the life of President Barack Obama.
Stephen Perrotti, 28, pleaded not guilty to nine firearms charges Friday in Lawrence District Court.
Perrotti allegedly threatened to kill President Obama, "even if it takes a lifetime."
He was arrested Thursday after the Secret Service contacted Lawrence Police about the alleged threats.
Secret Service agents and police officers found an AR-15 assault rifle, three scopes and four high-capacity magazines and ammunition at his Lawrence home.
Perrotti is charged with five counts of Possession of Large Capacity Firearm (or feeding device), Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card and Possession of an Assault Weapon.
He was ordered held without bail.
