Kelly Olynyk Available For Celtics In Game 4 Vs. Hawks
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Celtics will have one of their sharpshooters back Sunday night as they try to tie their playoff series with the Atlanta Hawks.
Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk will be available for Sunday night's Game 4 at the TD Garden, though head coach Brad Stevens isn't sure how much we'll see of the seven-foot three-point shooter.
"We'll play it by ear and see how the game's going," said Stevens, who heard about Olynyk's availability around 2:45pm at the team's shoot around. "But certainly it's great that he's available and certainly a chance that he plays for us."
Olynyk missed both Games 2 and 3 with a bad shoulder after playing just 12 minutes in Boston's Game 1 loss to the Hawks. He suffered a similar injury during the regular season which cost him six games.
He told reporters he was feeling much better as of Sunday morning without much pain. We'll have to see just how much the Celtics can get out of Olynyk in Game 4, but he should provide more spacing for his teammates whenever he's on the floor. Olynyk shot 41 percent from three-point range in 69 games during the regular season, tops on the team.
Stevens still doesn't expect to have guard Avery Bradley, who suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1, back any time soon.
"I have no updates other than the fact that I've been told it's been pretty consistent improvement," Stevens told reporters on Sunday. "But I think our timeline remains the same. It would be extremely unlikely that he would play in this series."
Stevens said he was going with his Game 3 lineup for Game 4, with Isaiah Thomas, Evan Turner, Jae Crowder, Jonas Jerebko and Amir Johnson out there for the opening tip.
