Keller @ Large: Baker Says T Control Board Would Bring 'Sense Of Urgency'
BOSTON (CBS) -- Gov. Charlie Baker says his much-debated MBTA fiscal control board would bring a sense of urgency and a "focused, aggressive overseer of a system that moves a million people around every day."
The Massachusetts Senate recently passed a budget amendment approving the board, and Baker told WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller that he hopes it will help the beleaguered transit system perform at a higher level.

"Most people I don't think would argue that the T has financial, operational and governance issues," he said. "This would create an entity made up of experts that would be focused wholly and solely on the performance of the MBTA."
Baker also responded to the reports that the U.S Olympic Committee is considering dropping Boston as its candidate to host the 2024 games. He said he wants to see more specifics from organizers in the next four to five weeks.
"My message to Boston 2024 for a while now is, show us the detailed plan," he said.
