Keller @ Large: AG Maura Healey On Olympics, Legalizing Pot

BOSTON (CBS) -- Attorney General Maura Healey shared her views on Boston's bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics and a push to legalize marijuana in Massachusetts on Keller @ Large Sunday morning.

Healey said she supports allowing Bay Staters to vote on whether the city should move forward with its efforts to host the games.

"I'm a huge sports fan and love the Olympics," Healey told WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller. "But I think, like many people in this state, I'm waiting to be convinced that this is the right move for Boston and for Massachusetts."

The attorney general then explained why she is not in favor of legalizing marijuana after seeing how it's played out in states that have done so.

"What's troubling is that they've seen a lot of people coming into the state and traffic it outside the state," she said. "They haven't seen a drop in illegal drug activity and illegal drug trafficking."

Healey also discussed gambling in Massachusetts and whether sexism played a role in her predecessor Martha Coakley's unsuccessful run for governor.
