Man Sentenced To At Least 15 Years In Prison For Role In Killing Of Ipswich Restaurant Owner
SALEM, Mass. (AP) — A Malden man has been sentenced to 15 to 25 years in state prison for his role in the killing of an Ipswich restaurant owner.
Jun Di Lin, a cab driver, pleaded guilty to manslaguhter and other charges in the 2011 beating death of Tony Woo during a failed robbery at the Magic Dragon restaurant. Lin was sentenced Friday by Judge David Lowy in Salem Superior Court.
Prosecutors say Lin cooperated with investigators and testified against two men who were charged with first-degree murder in Woo's death. Cheng Sun and Sifa Lee were both convicted and received life sentences.
Lin will be credited for nearly 4 1/2 years of time he already served. His sentence will be followed by five years of probation.
