Judge To Set New Trial Date For Aaron Hernandez In Killings

BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts judge this week is expected to set a new trial date for former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez in the 2012 killing of two Boston men.

Hernandez is accused of gunning down the men after a chance encounter at a Boston nightclub. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty.

Jury selection was scheduled to begin this month in Suffolk Superior Court, but the judge agreed to delay the trial, citing a pending appeal over evidence.

A new trial date is expected to be set Tuesday during a pretrial conference.

Hernandez is already serving a life sentence after being convicted last year in the 2013 killing of a man who was dating the sister of his fiancée.
