Judge Dismisses Boston's Lawsuit To Block Everett Casino

BOSTON (AP) — The legal battle over Wynn's planned Massachusetts casino is not over, despite a judge's decision to dismiss lawsuits filed by the cities of Boston and Revere.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said Friday that he's weighing an appeal, while Connecticut casino giant Mohegan Sun says it's moving forward in the legal process.

Mohegan Sun says the judge dismissed Revere's complaint but ruled the company is entitled to a separate judicial review of the state Gaming Commission's decision to award Wynn the lucrative Boston license over Mohegan Sun, which proposed a casino on a horse track in Revere.

Superior Court Judge Janet Sanders on Thursday dismissed Boston's lawsuit, ruling the commission didn't violate state law, as it claimed. She also dismissed Revere's lawsuit, saying the city had no right to sue.
