Jones: Did Matt Cassel Throw Tom Brady Under The Bus?

BOSTON (CBS) - 98.5 The Sports Hub's Adam Jones reads some comments from Bills quarterback Matt Cassel about DeflateGate and wonders if it helps or hurts Tom Brady's case.

When asked about the situation recently, here's what Brady's former understudy had to say:

"I'm really not going to get into that. Obviously that was a league decision, and it's something that the league came down with a ruling and we're going to go out there and play against whoever is going to be out there on the field [in Week 2]. I think [the preparation of footballs] is the same everywhere. I think we all have a say in what balls we want and all that stuff. That's about the extent that I'll get into that."

"That is Matt Cassel throwing Tom Brady under the bus," Adam Jones said Wednesday night. "We all have a say in how we want the footballs? [In other words], yeah Tom knew what was going on! Plus he is taking the league's side. Interesting."

"How dare you Matt Cassel!" shouted Rich Keefe.

Plenty of former and current NFL quarterbacks have weighed in on the situation, including Ben Roethlisberger earlier this week. The Steelers signal caller told ESPN he has a lot of respect for Brady and that it won't be the same without him playing in the regular season opener.

"Ben [Roethlisberger] is lined up with Brady. Matt Cassel? Not so much," added Adam Jones. "I did not see that one coming."

Minutes into the segment, Scott in Wrentham (our own Scott Zolak) called in to dispute Jones' take, saying he's reading the comments all wrong.
