John Cena Roasts Roger Goodell, Tom Brady Roasts Himself At ESPYs [VIDEOS]

BOSTON (CBS) -- The ESPYs took place Wednesday night, and although the Patriots haven't had the best relationship with the network in recent years they still let Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski make cameos in two skits.

The part that should satisfy Patriots fans, however, came from host John Cena. The WWE superstar and West Newbury, Mass. native told a joke during his opening monologue that compared NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to Vince McMahon, the owner of WWE who has played a semi-fictional evil boss character for decades.

Brady made a brief appearance in a skit lampooning Gatorade's "Dear Peyton" ad campaign, where the Patriots quarterback read a "letter" from Peyton that poked fun at his losing head-to-head record against Eli Manning.

As one might expect, Gronk also made a cameo appearance, doing a skit with Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie.

Brady's self-deprecation may not comfort Patriots fans, but at least Cena put Goodell in his place for the world to see.
