Bush, Carson Expected To File This Week For NH Primary
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Presidential candidates have until the end of the week to pay $1,000 and file paperwork if they hope to get on the New Hampshire primary ballot next year.
The three major Democratic candidates have already filed their paperwork and so have most of the Republicans. Among the crowded GOP field, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson have not filed their paperwork. Neither have Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former Govs. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and George Pataki of New York.
Candidates can have someone file on their behalf, but Bush, Carson and Pataki are expected to file in person.
Many candidates use the filing as an opportunity to draw supporters to the Statehouse.
New Hampshire's primary is expected to be held in early February.
