Japanese Prime Minister Visits Newly Renovated JFK Museum
BOSTON (CBS/AP) -- Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe paid a visit to the newly renovated museum at the JFK Library Sunday, accompanied by the daughter of the late president and current U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy.
Prime Minster Abe landed at Logan Airport late Sunday afternoon. Boston is the Prime Minister's first stop in his weeklong U.S. visit.
He was welcomed by Mayor Marty Walsh, the director of the Kennedy Library, and other Japanese dignitaries.
He speaks at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government on Monday before heading to Washington on Tuesday, where he'll be the first Japanese leader to address a joint session of Congress.
