'ISIS' Bumper Sticker Taken Down From Wellesley Middle School Classroom
WELLESLEY (CBS) – A bumper sticker with the word "ISIS" on it has been removed from a classroom at the Wellesley Middle School.
The sticker, which is not referring to the Islamic terrorists, is a play on the names of the Egyptian deities Isis and Ra, according to Industrial Technology teacher Brian Kelly.
"I used to have a cat named Isis, which is why the bumper sticker has been on the cabinet in my room for years," Kelly told WBZ-TV in an email Friday.
"I have answered questions from students about it over the last year or so, and it hasn't been a problem as far as I was aware," he said.
"Honestly, given the latest horrors in Paris, I have meant to take it down, but forgot to do so."
Kelly took it down Friday and destroyed it.
