Isaiah Thomas Out For Celtics vs. Grizzlies

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics will be without their best player Wednesday night when they host the Memphis Grizzlies.

Point guard Isaiah Thomas, who has provided an offensive spark for Boston since coming over from Phoenix in a deadline day trade, will miss Wednesday's game with a bruised lower back and bruised right elbow.

Thomas suffered the injuries on a hard fall Monday night in Miami during the Celtics' 100-90 win over the Heat. He hit the ground hard on a layup attempt, falling on his tailbone and elbow. Thomas finished the game, completing a three-point play right after the fall, and led Boston with 25 points.

In 10 games with Boston, Thomas has averaged 21.4 points per game with Boston going 6-4 in that span.
