Hundreds Of Mass. Teens Receive Donated Prom Dresses At Belle Of The Ball

EASTON (CBS) – More than 500 high school girls from all over the state got the chance to shop for donated prom dresses as part of the 10th annual "Belle of the Ball" program.

High school teenagers who couldn't otherwise afford to attend their proms got to choose from racks of new and gently worn dresses at Simmons College on Saturday, all of which were free.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe reports

Anton's Cleaners collects the dresses and distributes them each year.

Attendance is by invitation only. Girls are pre-qualified and referred by guidance counselors, teachers and social service agency personnel.
