Witness: Video Shows Hernandez With Gun Right After Odin Lloyd's Murder
BOSTON (CBS) – For prosecutors, it could be the next best thing to having the missing murder weapon.
A gun expert confirmed it is, in his opinion, a Glock pistol Aaron Hernandez is holding in video taken minutes after the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Lloyd's mother was in tears as she watched and listened.
Glock employee Kyle Aspinwall told the court that in his opinion, Hernandez was carrying a gun and not another object.
The jury watched a series of clips showing Hernandez in and around his North Attleboro home before and after the murder.
In each piece of video, he's seen holding a black object.
Aspinwall showed jurors an actual .45 caliber Glock handgun he brought as a prop. He analyzed still-frames from the surveillance video, comparing them to his gun.
"This is a picture of the defendant holding what appears to be a handgun in his left hand in a reverse grip, and we have a view of the back strap here," he explained.
State police have testified the bullets in Lloyd's body were fired from a .45 caliber Glock.
Also Wednesday, jurors saw surveillance of Hernandez and Lloyd clubbing in Boston two days before the murder.
A hotel security manager was watching him because a valet had reported he saw a gun in Hernandez's waistband.
