Driver Killed In Fiery New Hampshire Crash

HENNIKER, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police say a pickup driver has died after he was speeding in a breakdown lane and abruptly merged into traffic, rear-ending another vehicle.

The pickup and the car that was struck went off Route 202/9 in Henniker on Monday afternoon. The pickup rolled several times, struck some trees and caught fire. The driver, 52-year-old Todd Goss of Henniker, died at the scene.

The other driver, 46-year-old John Auprey of Penacook, was taken by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, where he was hospitalized in serious condition.

Both drivers had been traveling west on the road.

Police are investigating.
