Marijuana, Loaded Gun Found During Search Of Commercial Truck

HAMPTON, N.H. (CBS) – State Police conducting commercial vehicle enforcement in New Hampshire arrested two people after finding marijuana, guns and cash inside a box truck.

Troopers were conducting the enforcement on Interstate 95 in Hampton when they stopped a box truck driven by Antwan Omar Smith of North Carolina.

While speaking to Smith and his passenger, Alfego Sirmonte Daniels, the trooper said he detected an odor of "fresh marijuana."

After receiving a search warrant for the truck, police seized marijuana, a loaded 9 mm handgun, a .45-caliber handgun, 55 rounds of ammunition and more than $1,500 in cash.

The serial number had been removed from one of the guns.

Smith was charged with possession of a controlled drug and carrying without a license. Daniels was charged with possession of a controlled drug and possession of property without a serial number.
