Woman allegedly abandoned puppy in alley, Groveland police say
GROVELAND — Groveland police allege that a woman left a puppy in an alley on Monday.
The woman is accused of abandoning the Australian Shepard puppy in an alleyway near Sweet Paws Rescue around 3 p.m.
Police asked the public for help finding the woman on Tuesday. The founder of Sweet Paws Rescue said in a Facebook post later in the day that the woman had come forward and is cooperating with police.
She is suspected of animal cruelty.
The puppy was not injured.
