Gresh & Zo's 2014 NFL Summer School: Atlanta Falcons
BOSTON (CBS) - It's not your typical classroom. They're not your typical teachers. It's where you go after failing all year. It's Gresh and Zo's NFL Summer School on 98.5 The Sports Hub!
The summer school tour rolls on and continues with the NFC South, where Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak break down and preview the upcoming 2014 season for the Atlanta Falcons.
Taking Attendance:
The Atlanta Falcons welcome back Julio Jones from injury and offseason foot surgery. In the offseason, the Falcons signed Tyson Jackson and Paul Soliai in free agency. Devin Hester also signed with the Falcons in free agency. Asante Samuel and Thomas DeCoud are no longer with the Falcons. In the 2014 NFL Draft, they selected offensive tackle Jake Mathews and defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman. They also added Mike Tice and Bryan Cox to their coaching staff.
Gresh: "Well, their offensive tackle Sam Baker is out for the year with a torn ACL. So now, Jake Mathews is going to slide over to left tackle. They had to reconfigure their offensive line. So, you've got Matt Ryan, who's a $100 million man, and a rookie left tackle. You better hope to God that Julio Jones is still blowing by guys."
Zolak: "Julio Jones looks pretty damn good. Matt Ryan has probably got the best 1-2 tandem at the wide receiver spot in the league."
Pop Quiz:
Is Mike Smith and Thomas Dimitroff on the hot seat if the Falcons have another non-playoff season?
Zolak: "Hey, this is a results-based business."
Gresh: "I don't think Dimitroff is in trouble. I think the head coach would be in trouble. The GM seems to have some equity there with the owner."
Fantasy 101:
Is Julio Jones a top-5 wide receiver in fantasy this year?
Gresh: "Yup. He's good. He's really good."
Zolak: "Yup. Hit me."

Who's going to get you more fantasy points this year: Steven Jackson, Jacquizz Rodgers or Devonta Freeman?
Gresh: "Steven Jackson. Still got to go with Jackson by default."
Zolak: "I'm rolling the dice. I'm going with Jackson."
Final Grade:
The Falcons finished last season at 4-12. The 2013 season? They went 13-3. Vegas has set the over/under at 8.5 wins. Where do they finish and do they make the playoffs?
Gresh: "I think they are over. I can't put them in the playoffs though."
Zolak: "Hit me. 10-6 and they are in."
