Gresh & Zo: Patriots About To Embark On Tough Six-Game Stretch

BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots have an insane schedule coming up over their next six games.

They play the highly talented, yet extremely volatile Chicago Bears on Sunday. After that they'll host Denver, have their bye week, play at Indianapolis, back home against Detroit, then at Green Bay and at San Diego.

The Patriots defense especially will have their hands full, facing the likes of Jay Cutler, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, and Phillip Rivers.

98.5 The Sports Hub's Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak discussed what the best case scenario would be for the Patriots coming out of these next six games.

At 5-2 with a division lead, the playoff bye is still very much in play for New England, but how do you get there?

"If they win their next two, I think they're going to be a team that gets the bye," Zo said. "If you beat Chicago, you beat Denver, that gets you to a 7-2 record with your bye. Then you got two weeks to get ready for a game that will probably be to secure that bye, and that's at Indy."

Zo thinks the best case scenario would be to finish this six-game gauntlet with a 4-2 record, and expects at Green Bay followed by at San Diego to be the toughest stretch of games.

Gresh also is expecting 4-2, but disagrees on how they get there. He thinks New England loses to the Packers and Chargers, whereas Zo feels like they'll split.

Both agree the most difficult is the road game at San Diego at the end of the stretch. Another big wild card that Gresh brought up is the travel aspect of this gauntlet. The final two contests are both road games, meaning the Pats will play in Green Bay, travel back home to New England and then turn around to go all the way to San Diego in a prime time Sunday night game.

What are your expectations for this team over the next six games?
