Gresh & Zo: Canadiens Have Bruins Number
BOSTON (CBS) - February 6, 2013 - that's the last time the Bruins beat the rival Canadiens.
In that span Montreal has outscored the B's 18-13, including Thursday night's 4-1 win at the TD Garden.
Goalie Tuukka Rask was pulled midway through the second period in favor of Chad Johnson, and the 26-year-old Finn is now 2-10-2 in his career against Montreal with a 2.88 goals against average - the highest against any opponent he's faced 10 or more times.
Don't look now Bruins fans, but the Habs have your number.
"They got their ass kicked," Andy Gresh said Friday morning to open the show.
"The most exciting point in the game was when I heard Rush being played by Ron Poster, the great organist there at the Garden. That was about two minutes into the game, and after that they looked like Rocky chasing chickens in the fenced yard," said Scott Zolak.

Zo is obviously referring to the speed of Montreal. While it remains to be seen if their style of play works in the postseason in today's NHL (their last Stanley Cup berth was over 20 years ago), it's clear that the defensive-minded Bruins are given fits by the speedy, skilled Montreal players.
"It's been almost a full calendar year since the Bruins last beat the Canadiens, and the worst part about it is that city, that team, that fan base and the view that they invented hockey. They handed it to you again. It felt like Patriots at Denver; I mean we're in the third period and you just felt like this game is not going well, you can tell that your outmatched and outclassed. It looked like they were the faster team. Your legs were stuck in mud and couldn't do anything about it in three periods," said Zo.
"It always seems like Montreal scores the first goal. They come out of the gate like a buzzsaw and they set the pace. They set the tone in terms of the speed of the game and the Bruins have to adjust. That's what's disappointing," said Gresh.
