Greenfield Police Escort 93-Year-Old Veteran To Parade

GREENFIELD (CBS) -- When retired Navy Lt. Commander Paul Siemens, 93, asked the Greenfield Police Department for a way to attend the town's Memorial Day parade, officers heeded the call.

Siemens was the Captain of a submarine chaser for 14 years during World War II. He now lives in a nursing home and cannot drive.

According to Greenfield Police, Siemens called the department asking for help to get to parade. Siemens was not only picked up in a police cruiser, he also rode in the parade.
