Great White Shark Tagged Off Eastham Shores
EASTHAM (CBS) -- State marine biologists have tagged the third great white shark of the season off the coast of Cape Cod, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said.
Dr. Gregory Skomal, of the Division of Marine Fisheries tagged the great white off Coast Guard Beach.
The estimated 14-foot shark was initially observed 200 to 300 yards offshore. Biologists captured video to help identify the shark. It was tagged it 1/2 mile out.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy documented two additional shark sightings near Chatham Wednesday.
