Grated Cheese Recalled For Possible Salmonella Contamination

NEW YORK (CBS) – A nationwide recall of grated cheese is underway because the product could be contaminated with salmonella.

4C Foods Corp. is recalling 4C Grated Cheese, Homestyle Grated Cheese and Centro Grated Cheese brands.

The recalled six-ounce jars of Parmesan and Romano cheeses have best by dates between Nov. 12, 2016 and Nov. 12, 2018.

No illnesses have been reported yet. Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infects in the young, sick and elderly.

Anyone who bought the recalled cheese can return it to stores for a refund.
