Boston's Official 1,000 Pound Pumpkin Just Arrived At The Public Market
BOSTON (CBS) - Fall is well underway, but the arrival of Boston's great pumpkin makes the season official.
Weighing in at 1,082 pounds, Boston's official pumpkin arrived at the Boston Public Market on Tuesday, where it will stay for the remainder of the season.
Dubbed "Gourdo" by market-goers, the pumpkin outweighs last year's giant pumpkin by 62 pounds.
Though Gourdo is Boston's official pumpkin, an 800-pound gourd will keep the great pumpkin company on display at the market.
At the market, residents can snap pictures with the PumpKing, participate in a pumpkin naming contest and follow the giant gourd's progress on Twitter at @BPMpumpking.
Boston Public Market is located at 100 Hanover Street The pumpkin is displayed in the southeast corner of the market near Bon Me, Jennifer Lee's Gourmet Bakery, and Siena Farms,
