'Ghostbusters' Crew Helps Cops Find Suspect Accused Of Violently Shoving Elderly Woman

BOSTON (CBS) -- Prosecutors say a member of the "Ghostbusters" film crew shooting in Boston helped police find a suspect charged with shoving an elderly woman.

The 72-year-old woman died after she was violently shoved in Chinatown Wednesday morning, according to prosecutors. She was taken to Tufts Medical Center where she was pronounced dead Wednesday night.

Police say Tajanetta Downing, 24, bumped into Yuzhen Lei near Chauncey and Essex streets. Downing pushed Lei once and she fell to the ground, police said.

William Prior told WBZ-TV's Christina Hager he was on his way to work when he saw Lei on the sidewalk. He didn't realize that her skull had been seriously fractured.

"Because it was really hot that morning, I thought she might have fainted," he said. "She was like an elderly woman and she was just flat out in that corner there."

Downing fled the scene and a member of the "Ghostbusters" film crew helped police track her down, prosecutors said in court Thursday.

Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones are among the "Ghostbusters" stars who have been spotted on set this week.

A defense attorney said Downing, who faces charges including assault and battery on a person 60 or older, did not intend to kill the elderly woman.

Eva Loh lives in the same building as the victim. "I can't believe it. Usually people around Chinatown are nice to older folks," said Loh.

"She's 72-years old that could be her grandma and I don't think she'd do that to her grandma," said Loh.

Downing was held on $75,000 cash bail and is due back in court in August.
