Garoppolo Listed As Doubtful; Gronkowski, Hightower Questionable Vs. Texans
BOSTON (CBS) -- The official injury report is out, and the picture doesn't look particularly great for Jimmy Garoppolo.
The quarterback was listed as doubtful due to his shoulder injury in the final injury report before Thursday night's game, meaning his chances of playing are slim.
If Garoppolo is healthy enough to suit up, it's not yet known if he'll be the starter or if he'll serve as the emergency backup QB for rookie Jacoby Brissett.
The official language for a "doubtful" player states only that the "player is not certain to play," so there remains some ambiguity as to exactly what his status is at this moment.
The Patriots also listed six players as questionable, including Dont'a Hightower (knee) and Rob Gronkowski (hamstring). Neither played on Sunday, and Gronkowski has yet to play this season after tweaking his leg during a summer practice.
Also on the questionable list were guard Jonathan Cooper, cornerback Eric Rowe, defensive end Trey Flowers, and linebacker Jonathan Freeny.
For the Texans, linebacker Brian Cushing, offensive lineman Duane Brown, and receiver Braxton Miller are all out for the game.
