Buy or Sell: Tim Duncan Is Best Player In NBA The Last 15 Years
BOSTON (CBS) -- It was a "Buy or Sell" Monday on The Adam Jones Show's "Game of Jones." Play along with Adam Jones and Rich Keefe on the following topics…
- Tim Duncan is the best player in the NBA of the last 15 years.
"The debate comes down, for me, to him and Kobe right now. LeBron is there, but those guys you can look at their careers as a snap shot. There is so much left for LeBron," said Jones. "The one big edge that Duncan does have over Kobe is he never had the supporting cast, or the sidekick, that Kobe had. Kobe had Shaq for the first three (championships)."
"I would give Duncan the edge over Kobe," said Jones. "Five championships, he's been an MVP and spread it out over time, and he's done it with less -- that's got to be the guy."
- Kawhi Leonard will be an All-Star next season.
"I sell that," said Jones. "In the East I could see it, but in the West it's so stacked."
-Buy or Sell: LeBron, Wade and Bosh will be together again next year.
"I'm going to buy it. I wonder if they're going to add a piece, but LeBron is definitely back and Wade is definitely back. The only guy I have a question about is Bosh. Maybe he feels he can make more money somewhere, or he's being pushed out by LeBron and Wade so they can bring in a guy like Carmelo Anthony. But I still think next year, whether they're taking less to bring in another player, I still think all three are back."
- Buy or Sell: The Red Sox should start selling off pieces.
"I sell that they should do it right now. I don't know if they should do it, period," said Jones. "They should listen on guys like Lester, Drew or Uehara, and if you get a good return for them and don't think you'll make a push for a Wild Card spot, then fine, listen. But if I'm Ben Cherington, I'm sitting tight right now to see if they can turn around their level of play.... I'm not buying, but I'm not selling either."
"I sell the idea that Ben Cherinton needs to start trading off key pieces right now," added Jones. "Maybe it comes in a month or six weeks from now, but I'm riding it out with the group I have right now."
- Buy or Sell: The plot of "Little Big League" could actually happen.
"I'm going to sell that Keefe. I don't like to crush people's dreams, but I feel like somewhere along the line someone a little more mature would get placed into an ownership role, a manager's role," said Jones.
"I don't see anything wrong with it," added Keefe. "I think owner/manager is the only stretch there."
