Former Uber Driver Held Without Bail On Sexual Assault Charge

BOSTON (AP) — A former Uber driver from Boston already charged with sexually assaulting a fare late last year has been held without bail on charges that he raped a woman nine years ago.

Alejandro Done pleaded not guilty Monday to a rape charge stemming from the July 2006 assault on a woman near Moakley Park in South Boston and was held pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for next week. He was already in custody on the other allegation.

After the 46-year-old Done was arrested in last year's case, authorities performed DNA tests that linked him to five other assaults.

His lawyer says Done denies all charges.

He didn't drive for Uber at the time of the earlier assaults. The ride-hailing company cooperated with investigators.

Done faces arraignment in a 2007 case on Thursday.
