Fog Causes Major Delays At Logan Airport

BOSTON (CBS) - There were major delays in and out of Logan Airport Friday night, despite a day filled with sunshine. It all happened because of a dense blanket of fog that encircled the city.

"The person next to me kept commenting it looked exactly like San Francisco," one traveler said.

Fortunately she was on the correct flight to the East Coast. Passengers who made it into Logan described flying through a cloud and suddenly there was land.

It made getting out of Logan on time, or at all, impossible.

"I work in Plymouth and saw the fog rolling in earlier today and I thought 'is that going to happen to me?'" said Doreen Fagerberg who planned a weekend visit to catch-up with relatives. "My flight was cancelled to Philadelphia," she said.

Throughout the evening the boards were full of revisions. Hopeful passengers looked toward the sky even as the planes disappeared.

"I caught a glimpse of some sunlight so I was kind of surprised by the weather," another traveler said.
