Hernandez Associate Indicted For Witness Tampering, Lying To Grand Jury
BOSTON (CBS) – A Florida man has been indicted on charges in connection with the murder case involving Aaron Hernandez.
The U.S. Attorney's Office announced on Thursday that Oscar Hernandez, 23, of Florida, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, witness tampering and lying to a federal grand jury.
According to court documents, Oscar Hernandez had allegedly purchased and shipped a Toyota Camry from Florida to North Attleboro in April 2013. Authorities say a gun was later recovered from that car as part of the investigation into Odin Lloyd's murder.

That weapon and two other guns that were recovered during the investigation were all traced back to purchases in Florida that were made over a period of nine days in April 2013.
The discovery prompted an investigation into the possibility of interstate gun trafficking.
In grand jury testimony, Oscar Hernandez is accused of lying about his involvement with the purchase and shipment of the car.
Hernandez is also accused of trying to convince a witness to withhold testimony from the grand jury. The charges state that Oscar Hernandez "did knowingly attempt to corruptly persuade another person," who was identified in the court documents only as "KS."
According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Oscar Hernandez has no relation to Aaron Hernandez. He is described as a friend or associate of the former New England Patriot.
