Flash Flood Watch For Southern New England
BOSTON (CBS/AP) — Heavy rains have begun to spread over southern New England and the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch through Wednesday evening.
Forecasters say the heaviest storms could have rainfall of 2 inches an hour, with localized flash flooding. Most areas can expect to get 1 to 3 inches of rain, and some could get as much as 4 or 5.

Steady rain started to move from west to east beginning around daylight Wednesday.
It's expected to taper off by the evening.
An advisory for minor coastal flooding is in effect for midday high tides in eastern and southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
