Fireworks Display Scheduled At Fenway After Friday's Red Sox-Astros Game

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Red Sox return home Friday hoping to bring some of the fireworks they displayed Thursday night in Toronto with them.

But if that isn't the case, the team has a backup plan to help fans kick off the 4th of July fun early.

The Red Sox will host a postgame Independence Day celebration following Friday night's tilt against the Houston Astros, and yes, that will include a fireworks display set to 4th of July music. The pyrotechnics will be launched from a building behind the right field seating area, much like the fireworks display following Boston's 2013 World Series title.

Hopefully someone will remind John Henry this time, so he doesn't get worried when he sees smoke billowing from the outfield.

Friday night's show will take place approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the game and is expected to last about six minutes. All fans attending Friday night's game are welcome to stay for the display.
