Dozens Displaced After 9-Alarm Fire In Allston
BOSTON (CBS) - Firefighters were battling a nine-alarm fire in Boston's Allston neighborhood Wednesday evening.
Crews reported heavy fire when they responded to an apartment building on Harvard Terrace at about 5:45 p.m.
Boston Fire says the blaze started on the rear porches of the three story brick apartment building and spread inside and up through the roof.
Two firefighters were transported from the scene by Boston EMS, one for smoke inhalation and one for a shoulder injury. Three other firefighters were treated at the scene. Two bystanders were treated for unknown injuries.
Crews were ordered out of the building after part of the roof collapsed.
Dozens of residents have been displaced but no major injuries have been reported.
This was the city's first nine-alarm blaze since the Back Bay fire that killed two firefighters in March.
