Felger & Mazz: Would Patriots Benefit From A Tougher AFC East?

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots have benefited greatly over the years from weak competition in the AFC East.

At least, we all thought that weak competition for a division crown was a benefit.

Sure, the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins tend to play the Patriots tough, but they haven't been very competitive when it comes to claiming the division title. The Patriots have won the AFC East 11 times over the last 13 years, and each of the last five seasons.

With the Bills next on the Pats' schedule, Felger & Mazz wonder if the Patriots would have been better with tougher competition for the division. Felger calls Buffalo "the division's only hope" to give the Patriots some competition this season.
