FBI Recovers Gold Bar From Boston-Bound Armored Truck Robbery

MIAMI (CBS/AP) — A gold bar stolen in a $5 million armored truck robbery in North Carolina has been recovered by the FBI in South Florida, and authorities suspect a strong Miami-area connection.

The FBI on Monday released a photo of the 26-pound gold bar, worth between $470,000 and $500,000.

The agency is seeking the public's help to find other gold bars from the March 1 robbery along Interstate 95 in North Carolina.

They're offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and charges.

In all, the robbers stole 275 pounds of gold worth nearly $5 million from the truck, which left from Miami and was due in Boston on March 2.

The FBI says the robbers identified themselves in Spanish as police before tying the hands of the guards and leading them into woods.
