Juvenile Charged With Killing Man, Shooting Woman In Farmington, NH

FARMINGTON, N.H. (CBS/AP) — Authorities in New Hampshire say a juvenile has been charged with murder after a man was found apparently shot to death and a woman was found with a gunshot wound in a Farmington home.

Assistant Attorney General Jason Casey says police responded to a call at the residence just after 12 p.m. Wednesday.

They found two adults with gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead and the woman was hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The victims have not been identified.

Casey says the juvenile was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.

Investigators spent Thursday collecting evidence inside 27 Oakwood Road.

At one point, a trooper trudged through several inches of snow to take photographs of the rural home.

One neighbor told WBZ her family heard gunshots late Wednesday night, but they didn't think anything of it because she says the people next door often fire their guns off the back porch.

A young woman said the teenage suspect enjoyed shooting.

"He messaged our friend a few hours before said 'Hey want to go shooting with me?' They said no because they were with us," she said.

Most of the neighbors on the private road did not to speak, but one classmate of the suspect said there is widespread shock at the high school.

"Things like this don't happen in a small town. So, walking around, you see people emotional about it. People are talking about it. It really, really hits us as a community hard, this kind of thing happen," Kameron Bradley said.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man's exact cause of death.
