Facebook Apologizes For Battery-Draining App, Releases Fix
MENLO PARK, Calif. (CBS) -- Has your iPhone been losing battery faster than usual? Facebook may be to blame.
The company has received several reports of users having battery problems with the Facebook iOS app.
A Facebook engineer says in a post that the social media network has been looking into the complaints and acknowledged the app is using "more battery than intended."
One issue is that the audio session for Facebook videos was playing even after users left the app, the engineer said.
Downloading the newest version of the app should help fix the problem, according to Facebook.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused," engineer Ari Grant said. "We are committed to continuing to improve the battery usage of our app and you should see improvements in the version released today."
