Everett Motorcyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash

EVERETT (CBS) – A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run crash on Broadway in Everett.

A Massachusetts State Police reconstruction team assisted Everett Police after the crash that happened around 6 a.m. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said the motorcyclist was hit from behind.

The driver did not stop at the scene. Police have not yet released a description of the car involved, but said they have identified several vehicles that were in the area at the time of the crash.

Sources told the WBZ-TV I-Team that police have strong leads and impounded a vehicle believed to be involved. Police are questioning at least one person, sources said.

Police closed down Broadway between Lexington and Hancock Streets for nearly five hours as they investigated the crash.

Residents are concerned because this isn't the first fatal crash in the area. A tractor trailer hit and killed a pedestrian on Broadway just down the road only five days ago.

There are surveillance cameras on light poles in the area.
