Elusive Goat On The Lam Spotted Off I-495
BOSTON (CBS) -- The legend of the elusive Lowell goat continues to grow.
Massachusetts State Police told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that there was a Sunday morning sighting of the goat, which has inspired a Twitter account with more than 1,000 followers, on the side of Interstate 495 near the Westford and Chelmsford line.
The goat has been loose for several weeks after escaping from a Tewksbury farm. On Dec. 29, a man said he chased the goat through the streets of Lowell for three-and-a-half hours.

The man and another passerby cornered the goat in a fenced-off-area on Iowa Street before animal control arrived, but the goat got away.
Lowell police say the goat weighs about 200 pounds and has a full set of horns. They are asking anyone who spots the goat to call police instead of trying to corral the animal on their own.

"Although goats are normally docile animals, in stressful situations, such as being loose in unfamiliar territory, he possible can become scared and resort to acting in a survival mode," Lowell police said. "If he feels scared or trapped, he, most likely, will strike out."
