Chelsea Man Charged With Drunk Driving After Head-On Crash Injures 5

MEDFORD (CBS) – Five people were injured - at least two seriously - after a head-on collision on the Mystic Valley Parkway in Medford on Thursday evening.

State Police say that the driver of one car - Helser Msaravia, 22, of Chelsea - was arrested and charged with drunk driving.

According to Mass. State Police, Msaravia, collided with a BMW. The driver - a 35-year-old woman - and her passenger - a 39-year-old man - both from Medford sustained minor injuries.

Msaravia also sustained minor injuries, but a 20-year-old female passenger in his car and a 16-year-old were seriously injured.

After the crash, a firefighter was injured when a dog inside one of the cars bit him. He went to the hospital for routine treatment. That dog ran away from the scene and is still missing.

The crash has shut down the road for several hours.
